This domain and site belong to Chris Gill, who has been an editor of magazines and books in the UK since about 1980.

The site was originally conceived mainly to promote the services of Business Editors, a small consultancy run by Chris. That business is now more or less dormant, and Chris is fully committed to other projects, notably Britain's leading ski resort guide and Britain's leading operator of corporate yachting events.

A second purpose was to act as a point of reference, for clients and collaborators, on matters of editorial style. Two elements of that role remain on the pages below this one: an essay on the use of Initial Capitals, and a page of links to useful guides to style.
